Sam Otto Purdue announces Goldwater Scholarship Nominees; School of AAE student named
Purdue University's National and International Scholarships Office has announced four students as nominees for the 2015 Barry Goldwater Scholarship. This year's nominees include Sam Otto, a junior from Pittsburg, PA with a double major in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering and Mathematics (College of Engineering, Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering/College of Science, Department of Mathematics).
Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories New Purdue propulsion facilities to expand jet-engine research
Purdue University is expanding the nation's largest university propulsion laboratory for research aimed at reducing fuel consumption and emissions for next-generation jet engines. The expansion at the Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories will include new test cells to support laser-based measurements in a building to be constructed adjacent to Zucrow's high-pressure lab. Developed in 1964 as part of NASA's Apollo program, the high-pressure lab houses research sponsored by aerospace companies, NASA, the U.S. Air Force, and other agencies.

Purdue School of Aeronautics and Astronautics congratulates Dr. Raymond R. Cosner (BSAAE'72; MSAAE'72) and Dr. Anthony Thornton (Ph.D.'92) on their selection as 2015 Distinguished Engineering Alumni. Dr. Cosner and Dr. Thornton will be honored at a luncheon on Friday, February 20, 2015 in the Purdue Memorial Union. A reception will follow in the School of AAE.
Pathways to Exploration President Daniels, William Gerstenmaier (BSAAE'77; OAE'03; DEA'07) to discuss human space exploration
Purdue University President Mitch Daniels and NASA Official William Gerstenmaier (BSAAE'77; OAE'03; DEA'07) will discuss human space exploration on February 23, 2015 during a public conversation. The conversation, "Pathways to Space Exploration," will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Stewart Center's Fowler Hall. It is free and open to the public.
