Michael Moses

Vice President of Operations, Virgin Galactic

Michael Moses is the current Vice President of Operations at Virgin Galactic. Before Joining Virgin Galactic Michael Moses served as flight director at NASA Johnson Space Center where he led teams of Flight Controllers in the planning, training and execution of all aspects of Space Shuttle missions. Prior to being selected as a Flight Director in 2005, Moses had over 10 years experience as a Flight Controller in the Shuttle Propulsion and Electrical Systems Groups at NASA. Michael Moses holds a Bachelor's degree from Purdue in Physics, a master's degree in space sciences from Florida Institute of Technology, as well as a master's degree in aerospace engineering from Purdue University. He is also a two-time recipient of the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal among other NASA commendations and awards.

 

Dr. Michael Hawes

Human Space Flight Programs Director, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company

Dr. Michael Hawes is the current Director of Human Space Flight Programs at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. His past history includes a variety of distinguishing positions at NASA including senior manager, and associate administrator of PA&E at NASA. Dr. Michael Hawes has also held positions at Deputy AA for Program Integration, Space Operations at NASA HQ, and Section Head / MOD at NASA Johnson Space Center. Dr. Michael Hawes obtained his Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Notre Dame in 1978, then both his master's and doctorate were obtained from George Washington University in 1996, and 2006 respectively, both in Engineering Management.

 

Rick Hoskin

Director, Advanced Launch System, ATK Aerospace Systems

Rick Hoskin has held the position of Director of Advanced Launch Systems at ATK Aerospace Systems for 27 years now. He is also the Vice President of Safety, Quality and Environmental at ATK, and has been for the past 4 years. Rick Hoskins holds a degree from Utah State University.

Chris Ferguson

Crew and Missions Operations Director, Boeing

Astronaut Biography

Christopher Ferguson is currently the Director of Crew and Mission Operations; CST-100 at Boeing. Here he builds upon the current operations concept and helps refine the design of the CST-100. His past history includes a retired U.S. Navy captain and former NASA astronaut. Ferguson is a veteran of three space shuttle missions including a pilot of STS-115 (Atlantis) and commander of STS-126 (Endeavor) and the final shuttle mission, STS-135 (Atlantis). In the US Navy he was a Pilot for 26 years. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University in 1980. Ferguson then attained his master's in aerospace engineering from Naval Postgraduate School in 1990.

Dr. Garrett Reisman

Senior Mission Assurance Engineer, SpaceX

Astronaut Biography

NASA Astronaut Garrett Reisman is presently Senior Mission Assurance Engineer of SpaceX. Prior to SpaceX Garret Reisman was employed by TRW from 1996 to 1998 as a spacecraft guidance, navigation and control engineer in the Space and Technology Division. While at TRW, he designed the thruster-based attitude control system for the NASA Aqua spacecraft. Prior to employment with TRW, Dr. Reisman was a Ph.D. candidate at Caltech in the Division of Engineering and Applied Science in Pasadena, California. His multiphase fluid mechanics research provided the first experimental evidence of the presence of shock waves in unsteady cloud cavitation. He was selected by NASA as a mission specialist in June 1998. Astronaut Candidate Training included orientation briefings and tours, numerous scientific and technical briefings, intensive instruction in shuttle and International Space Station (ISS) systems, physiological training and ground school to prepare for T-38 flight training as well as learning water and wilderness survival techniques.Parsippany. Garret Reisman holds bachelor's degrees from University of Pennsylvania in economic and mechanical engineering, a master's degree in mechanical engineering received, and a Ph.D also in mechanical engineering from California Institute of Technology.

Will Watson

Executive Director, Space Frontier Foundation

William Watson is presently Executive Director of the Space Frontier Foundation (SFF). Before the Foundation, William Watson worked for the Tauri Group as an analyst on the Space Foundation's The Space Report and on spaceport related business development. William Watson's professional involvement with the NewSpace industry started with his graduate placement at the Transformational Space Corporation, LLC (t/Space).William Watson received his Master's in Space Management (MSM )from the International Space University in Strasbourg (ISU), France. The MSM graduate program focused on aerospace business, marketing and law. Prior to ISU, Mr. Watson received a Bachelor's Degree in Russian Literature & History from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He has studied in Moscow at Lomonosov University and as part of the Institute for Biomedical Problems' Summer space program.

Tim Reith

Shuttle Orbiter Integration Manager and Deputy Chief Engineer, Boeing

Graduated from Purdue in 1990 with a BS in Aerospace Engineering (Orbital Mechanics and Propulsion). He worked on on the Space Shuttle Program after graduation until August 2011 - Career spanned employment with Lockheed, Rockwell, and Boeing. His past positions include: Orbiter Main Propulsion Engineer and eventually Main Propulsion Subsystem Manager,First Line Manager for Main Propulsion, Fuel Cells, and Orbital Maneuvering Subsystem,Orbiter Chief Engineer, and Orbiter Associate Program Manager. Currently, Tim is the Propulsion Lead for Boeing Commercial Crew Program.

 

Dr. William Anderson

Associate Professor, Purdue University School of Aeronautics and Astronautics

William Anderson is a professor at Purdue University with interests in chemical propulsion and design methodologies. His research areas include systematic and careful combination of analysis and experimentation on injectors, combustors, nozzles, and propellants for both rocket and air-breathing propulsion. Specific research areas include ignition, non-toxic propellants, combined cycle propulsion, combustion stability, fuel cooling, and life prediction. Anderson recently was awarded the Global Engineering Program Director in 2011. He has obtained a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Arizona State University in 1979. He then received his masters from University of Arizona in chemical engineering 1984. In 1996, Anderson attained his doctorate in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
