New Student Instructions

Things to take care of in your first few days here and other things to know:

  1. ITaP Account/PUID#
    • Stewart Center (STEW) G65 (ITaP Customer Service Center)
    • Must have government issued photo ID to receive your PUID
    • Set-up Purdue e-mail account and get PUID#
  2. Internationals ONLY
    • SEVIS form from the Office of International Students and Scholars at Schleman Hall, Room 136 (if you don't already have it)
  3. Purdue ID card
    • Purdue Memorial Union (PMU) 130
    • Must have government issued photo ID and know PUID# (and have SEVIS form if International)
Funded Graduate Students
Office assignments/Keys will be issued after AAE Right-To-Know Training is completed along with the mandatory safety training presentation has been attended. (See Jenn LaGuire for dates and times)
Adding/Dropping classes:
Log onto https://mypurdue.purdue.edu/ and go to the 'academic' tab. Follow the instructions for classes . For research credit hours you must fill out the add/drop form (in your packet) and give it to Linda Flack (ARMS 3305). Please see Linda if you need any help with this.
  • ITaP: Information Technology at Purdue – The computer network/admins for campus-wide operations
    • Internet and wireless for campus
    • ITaP computers in libraries, computer labs (i.e., STEW 102) around campus
    • ITaP (STEW G65) can also help with PAL system (wireless on Purdue's campus)
  • ECN: Engineering Computer Network – The computer network/admins for engineering computers
    • Account allows you access to ENG programs and AAE servers
    • ARMS 2106 computer lab
    • Terminals in AAE offices
    • ECN and ITaP login and passwords are the same thing
  • PUID# and login name:
    • Gives you a Purdue computer account (access to e-mail, OnePurdue, Banner)
    • Allows you to log into any of the ITaP computers (libraries, computer labs around campus)
  • Purdue ID card: Photo ID with PUID#
    • Allows access to the Co-Rec (recreational and sports facilities)
    • BoilerExpress - Acts as debit card on campus
    • Meal plans and Dining Dollars – Use in university dining halls
    • Ride ANY City Bus for free. Just show your Purdue ID card to the driver as you board. More information available at the info desk in PMU.
