In recognition of his technical and managerial leadership in the military aerospace industry, Darryl E. Davis has been awarded the 2010 Distinguished Engineering Award.

The Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award is presented to engineering alumni/ae who have distinguished themselves in any field of endeavor that reflects favorably on Purdue University, the engineering profession, or society in general.

The accomplishments of DEA's can be in sectors such as industry, academia and/or government. In the case of alumni/ae who are engaged in engineering work, their record of accomplishments should indicate a high potential for future growth into positions of increasing responsibility.

This year marks the 47th annual event  and Purdue now has a total of 462 DEA's which is a very selective company as Purdue University has in excess of 83,000 living engineering alumni. The School of Aeronautics held a reception for Mr. Davis on the 3rd floor of Armstrong Hall on Feb 19th. Pctured above is Mr Davis with Professor Emeritus George Palmer and head of school Professor Tom Shih.
