Philanthropy

In the past few years, ABE-GSA has tried to become more involved in the Purdue, West Lafayette, and Greater Lafayette Area communities and has provided our students/members with opportunities to engage with the community in service events.

This year, the GSA Philanthropy hopes to bring a diverse selection of events to ABE students and provide many opportunities to give back to the community. We have events planned at Food Finders, Lafayette Transitional Housing, United Way, Animal Shelters, and many more. Additionally, we will have year-round donation drives (for food, clothing, toys, etc). Visit the ABE GSA website for more information and how to get involved!

We typically appoint a Philanthropy Chair by asking new graduate students in the Fall if they are interested, so that new students have an opportunity to get involved and participate in ABE-GSA Board Meetings.

In the past, the GSA has been involved with Restaurant Hope which you can read about here: RH_paper, Detrash the Wabash, “Reverse Trick or Treating ” at IU Arnett and St. Elizabeth’s , Wabash Sampling Blitz, St. Matthew’s Soup Kitchen, and Purdue Winterization.
