Two new faculty members to join Purdue Industrial Engineering

As part of Purdue Engineering's Strategic Growth Initiative, two new faculty members will join the School of Industrial Engineering in the coming year.  We're happy to welcome Susan Hunter and Mario Ventresca to the Purdue IE family!

Susan HunterDr. Susan Hunter joins us from Cornell University, where she has been a postdoctoral associate in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering. Susan holds BS and MS degrees in statistics from North Carolina State University, and MS and PhD degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech. Her research interests lie broadly in Monte Carlo methods and simulation optimization.

Mario VentrescaDr. Mario Ventresca comes to Purdue from the University of Toronto, where he has been a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.  Mario holds a BS in Computer Science form Brock University, an MS in Computing and Information Science from the University of Guelph, and a PhD in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on the design, analysis and application of efficient algorithms for operations research, network science, machine leaning and automated inference and design problems.

We wish them both long and productive careers here at Purdue!

Keep Purdue IE in the loop!

We like to think of Purdue IE as one big extended family -- with about 8,000 members! It's tough to keeps tabs on so many people, so we'd like your help in keeping us all connected.

If you've changed jobs, had a new child, received a promotion or discovered that your next-door neighbor in Bugtussle, Nebraska is also a Purdue IE, drop us a note and/or photograph at: IEalumni@purdue.edu.

We'll feature these items in future issues of the Purdue IE Webletter!
